If you are reading this then you are probably thinking about affiliate marketing. Or maybe you are already working a business but you want to take it to the next level.
A lesson Learned from Yoda
Yoda from star wars has a terrific quote which makes really great sense to me…
“Do or do not. There is no try.”
Have you ever said “I am going to try affiliate marketing”? I think we all did in the beginning.
But let’s talk about this word “try” for a moment. I want to prove to you how you can’t try something. You can only do.
Let’s do an experiment (Come on! Humor Me)
- Grab a pen or a pencil and lay it on the table next to you.
- Now I want you to try to pick up the pen. Keep in mind, if you pick up the pen then you are “doing” not “trying”. I don’t want you to do. I want you to “try”. So don’t pick up the pen but just try to pick up the pen. It can’t be done, can it?
You see either you do or you do not.
I made a decision to change my thinking when it comes to doing my business. I started with my words and the way I look at my business.
Insead of “I am really going to try and make this business work”.
I think “I am growing a successful business online”.
Because I am by taking action daily. I know that each day I take action I am getting closer to my goal.
“Okay, It isn’t always this easy…”
If you have been doing affiliate marketing for a while like me then you may find that sometimes it feels like the results are coming slow. But I have found that when I least expect it, I wake up to unexpected sales which always feels great and this of course helps to keep you motivated. So I keep working my business every day. I guess you could call it commitment. I am committed to my business.
If you are brand new to affiliate marketing, you might want to focus on getting educated. You could make it a point to learn something new every day. That is “doing”. And it counts toward helping you hit your goals.

So What about you? What do you think about trying verses doing? I would love to hear some of your thoughts.
