Benefits of Blogging 2019

Share your Story by Blogging

Blogging gives you a chance to share your story as well as your personal experience and knowledge. This is huge because it will help you to gain trust from your readers. And they will want to come back for more. But on a more personal level, you get to express yourself. Blogging gives you a safe environment to express yourself.

Help Others with Blogging

And while you are sharing your personal experience, you get to help others. There are many people who have the same troubles and challenges as you have. When you share your experience you may be helping to change the life of someone else. You get to pay it forward. For example, I have a weight loss blog where I write about my struggles and challenges with obesity. I help others lose their weight and get healthy. I let them know they are not alone. If nothing else, I love knowing I am doing something positive for the world.

Make New Friends With Your Blog

Blogging helps you to meet “like-minded” people and new friends. For example, if your blog is about needlepoint, you may want to meet others who do needlepoint so you can share ideas. As your site gets popular and generates traffic, people will begin to leave comments. As you interact with these folks, you may visit their site as well. When you network with people who are in the same niche you will make friends for life. Years ago I was a blogger with Squidoo. Squidoo is long gone yet I still have many friends that I still interact with on Facebook.

Voice Your Opinion through Blogging

Do you have a mission you want to share with the world? Blogging is the easiest way to get your voice out there. You can write about your feelings and your perspectives.

Blogging is a great way to get your product or mission out to the world. Whether your goal is to help people or make sales, you will be getting your information out for the world to see. It is a great way to communicate.

Become an Expert in Your Niche

Blogging helps you become an expert in your niche. You probably already know a lot about your topic or you wouldn’t or you wouldn’t be thinking about creating a website.  However, over the next several months and years, you will be doing a lot of research, and reading on your topic which will increase your knowledge. And as your site grows, you will begin to interact with others as they leave comments. Many of my readers share other perspectives which I learn from and often they ask questions that get me thinking more. Often this leads to more research. You will learn so much just by interacting with people.

Become a Better Writer While Generating Traffic

The more you write, the better you will get and this is a win for your blog. As you become a better writer and post quality content you will see your traffic improve. As traffic improves and people love what they are reading they will begin to comment on your posts and share your posts on social media. This will give you more traffic.

Make Money With Blogging

Once you have lots of great posts and have decent traffic, you can begin to recommend products to your readers through affiliate marketing. This will help you to make some mailbox money. Mailbox money is when you go to the mailbox or go to pay pal and have a surprise check.

When I first started blogging I always assumed it was just like having an online journal. But there are so many ways to use blogging to reach out to people and also make money. I’m still learning about how to make money and was wondering if you have you tried any of these methods and if so have you seen extensive benefits? Thanks for sharing!

Hi Daybe, I have tried all of the methods that I have written about. Blogging is a great way to express yourself and get your product in front of more people.

i like how much information you give about affiliate marketing. It’s something quite a few people want to do but most don’t have any idea how to go about it. Your site provides very good information about it along with other good information a\bout internet marketing in general. It provides reviews of products within the niche and I believe anyone seeking info about this subject will have several of their questions answered by visiting your site.

I had never heard the term mailbox money, absolutely love it. Thanks for a great article, it was actually really heartening to see I’m not the only one who blogs to meet like-minded people and share my opinion. It’s basically why I started, just to provide information and connect to other people who love horses.

Best wishes on your site, I stayed for ages to read so perhaps that makes us friends 🙂

The greatest reason for failure in blogging in my opinion is to threat it as a money making venture. The first motivation for me is to treat it as a hobby. The reason is that it will take a relatively long time for you to be noticed in the vast world of the internet. But when it is a hobby you are naturally patient at it.  Thank you for sharing

I think that is a great way to look at blogging, Paschal. I think when you are writing about a hobby or passion, it comes through in your writing. When people see you truly care and have passion, they are most likely to interact with your site, as you are not just there for the money.

Hi Wendy, when  I first heard about people who were called ‘bloggers’, I couldn’t figure out how they could be occupied just writing about things and not ‘gaining’ anything. Then I found mysel reading many helpful blogs, regularly, and I am learning so much. It is good to be in an online connection where your challenges can be discussed and information shared. So when I also understood how they earn from it using affiliate marketing, I could see that blogging can be so fulfilling. Maybe I will take it up soon. Lots to gain and lots to share. Thanks for the information.

You go it, JJ! It really is about sharing ideas, connecting and enjoying a community of “like minds” helping each other by sharing knowledge! It is fun and yes, you can make money with affiliate marketing as a side bonus.

I loved reading your article. It came at just the right time in my attempt at establishing a business in blogging.

I was feeling a little disheartened about my writing efforts but you have reminded me that everything I share has the potential to help someone.

I also liked how down to earth your  writing is, making blogging seem like it really is within EVERYONES grasp.

    Thank you
