Can You Really Make Money With MTurk?

You Can Make Money with MTurk!

My readers know that I would never recommend any program unless I have tried it out myself. And I want to reassure you that not only have I tried it out, but I have also earned over $200 doing it over the last 2 months.

Mturk (Amazon Mechanical Turk) is a site where people and companies submit jobs that need to be done. Some examples of jobs are surveys, article writing and transcribing. It’s sort of like outsourcing.

Workers, like you or I, can choose to work on a HIT (Human Intelligence Tasks) and earn money.

Many hits or jobs only take a second to earn a few cents while others pay more for more time. Now, this doesn’t sound like much, but over time and actually, pretty quickly those few cents can add up.

It is up to you what hits you want to work on or not work on. You may want to do some simple and quick jobs that just take a moment to do where you can earn a few cents or you may want to do a job that takes more effort and pays more money. I like to do the math in my head and focus on jobs that pay $5 an hour or more.

You may be thinking that $5 an hour isn’t much at all. But I really enjoy doing hits. I work on mturk while I’m home being bored. I don’t get paid to play video games or watch tv, so why not work on jobs with Amazon Mechanical Turk and earn some extra money online.

When working on hits it is important to be careful! Accuracy is important. If you don’t do good work, then your work will be rejected and it will lower your score making you ineligible for hits that pay more. It is important to take mturk seriously and always try to do your best.

If you do good work you will be rewarded. You will notice that soon you will be eligible for more hits that pay more. So it is important to take your time and do a great job.

Now keep in mind, I only spend about 3 or 4 hours a week doing M-Turk. It is just a hobby for me and I only “turk” when I’m bored and not working on other things like my affiliate marketing business.

But if someone decided to do mturk part-time by working 20 to 30 hours a week, you could really earn a decent amount of money. It would be perfect for a student or a stay at home mom.

By the way, I am not an affiliate and I don’t get paid by recommending this program. I just see that it works and thought I would share it with my readers.

Here are my stats so far. I know it isn’t much, but again, I only do a couple hours a week.mturk earnings

    Hi Wendy,
This page is awsome girl. I had just signed up with two other similar companies online. I had never heard of mTurk. I will be checking this out. I needs some moola! Too bad it isn’t an affiliate link. You would have this one in the bag! I also checked out what other topics and posts you have. Looks like you’ve been at this for a while. I am a newbie. Your site has a lot of information and some of it I am interested in to make money when I have spare time while building a website. I’ll be back to read more.

But seriously, the page is well laid out. Straight forward. No bs or fluff. Links work. You got this.

Very nice, and congratulations! I’ve been looking for something I can do at home, online – but I don’t have a ton of time so it has to be something I can spend as little or as much time on as I want (or have!) each day. This sounds like a great place to start!

It is great if you don’t want to have to invest a whole lot of time, or if you want something that is super easy to do.

I am not familiar with MTurk, but going through your review I believe it could be useful for somebody who would like to work as a freelancer in their free time or even full-time after a while.
I don’t know how this program shares the tasks, but I hope the jobs people receive are not only based on the how low you set your price, but on knowledge and how good you are with a given topic or task.

You get to actually choose the tasks that you want to do. Many of them you have to qualify for by taking a test.

    Hey there Wendy,
Wow MTurk sounds really cool! 3-4 hours a week and you’re earning $200 I say that it’s not bad at all. I’m definitely giving it a try tonight, really curious.

I don’t really do surveys as I get a load of them from people but Amazon is a good company so why not. Thanks for recommending this, your posts are always nice.Cheers!

Great Riaz! I would love to hear MTurk is working out for you. Just remember that the more you do there, the more, higher paying hits will be available to you.
